Courses Offered

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Funk, Lyrical, Pointe, 'Just for Boys' Tap And Jazz, Tumbling, Acrobatic Jazz.

Beginner classes are all combination classes which include Ballet. Intermediate students may replace Ballet with Lyrical or add Lyrical. A student must be in Intermediate or Advanced Ballet to be considered for Pointe Shoes.

Performing Company

Exciting Performance Opportunities are made available for interested students who qualify. Auditions are held in September.

Private, Semi-Private and Trio Lessons

A limited number of students will be accepted. To qualify, a student must be at least 8 years of age and have at least three years of dance training or upon teachers recommendation. Private students must be registered in a regular group class as well. These students will perform in a matinee performance during recital week.

Recital

Each year, The Academy of Dance proudly showcases all of our students in a Gala                performance. Costumes are purchased by the students. Recital dates and costume fees are announced in late fall.

Dress Code

Girls:
Ballet: Leotard (any style) with black, white, pink, or tan tights. Pink ballet slippers. Ballet skirts are permitted, no shorts will be allowed.
Lyrical students: Leotard (any style), or tight tank tops (any color). Tan lyrical boots, Skirts and tight black biker shorts are permitted.
Tap and Jazz: Leotard (any style), or tight tank tops (any color). Black dance pants with black jazz shoes and black tap shoes.
Sneakers are Permitted in Acro Jazz and Funk Classes
Hair must be tied back and secured for class!

Absolutely no sweatpants, sweatshirts, T-Shirts or loose shorts are to be worn during class.

Boys:
Black dance pants with plain white T-Shirt and black dance shoes.

Dance Apparel and shoes may be conveniently purchased through Academy Apparel.

Attendance due to Inclement Weather

The Academy will not necessarily be closed when school is closed.
When in doubt, please call the Academy at (610) 282-2231 for a recorded message. This message will also give you the day and time of any make up lessons due to cancellations.

Class Observation

Parents observation days are in January.
